Thank you for the kind note! We're very happy that you're enjoying our software. :)

The first step I would suggest is to organize the information you need to remember. In the case of computer organization, make an outline or chart divided into digestible sections (each with around 25 key points/ideas/concepts max). Then, use our software to copy and paste the text for each section into a separate room in a memory palace. After that, use the software to transform the text into items that help you recall the information in that section.

Hi xmyvsionx! Thanks for the suggestions! All great ideas and we'll work on implementing. Quick question: are you mostly using the platform on mobile or on desktop? On mobile there is a full screen view if you tilt your device horizontally once you are in a room. Also, please note that you can scan a room item by item if you click on the forward and back buttons beside the play button. Please let us know if you think of anything else!

Step 1. Register an account (need to provide an email address or facebook account). Step 2. Have a palace ready for publication. Step 3. Register a publisher account: i. In the ACCOUNT tab on the top MENU, there is a section on the left margin that reads "Publisher Account". It has a big blue button that says REGISTER, click on that button. This will take you to a new page where you need to: ii. Agree to the Publisher Terms and Conditions iii. Link an existing Stripe account or register a new Stripe account (Stripe is a third party company that handles all payment processing -- Memory Palace does not store any financial information.) Step 4. Now on your ACCOUNT page, you should have a link in the Publisher Account section that reads "Connected". Click on that link. This will take you to the page that you will use to manage all your publications. Step 5. Publish your palace. i. Click on the link under "Published Palaces" that reads "New Publication". ii. Name your new publication and click "Create publication". iii. On the left margin of this new page that you will use to manage your new publication, click the "Edit" button. iv. Fill in all the required fields as you want your palace to appear on the Marketplace: --Logo & Previews: Select the images that best represent your palace. Note that you can "Upload" new images or "Import" images directly from your palace by choosing "Import" and then selecting your palace. You can even select images from specific rooms in your palace and reveal or hide its items, path, keywords, and references by clicking on the four buttons that appear on top of the image before you import it. --Name: Change the name of your palace if you want. --Price: Select the sale price for your palace. If you click on the magic wand, it will recommend a price based on how many items are in the palace at a rate of $0.10 per item. On the left margin you can see a breakdown of how your price will be divided among Stripe, Memory Palace, and yourself. --Palace to publish: Select the palace you want to publish from your list of palaces. --Category: Select an appropriate category for your palace to appear. --Short description: Fill in a short description for your palace. Note that you can click on the magic wand to provide basic stats about your palace. This is the description that first appears in the marketplace before someone clicks on your palace to view the palace's listing page. --Long description: Fill in a longer description for your palace. This is the description that will appear on your palace's listing page. v. Click the "Save" button to save. vi. Optional: Click the "Preview" button to preview your palace's listing page. vii. Click the green "Submit" button twice to submit your palace for review. This submits the palace for administrator approval. viii. Once your palace is approved, you will receive an email letting you know and a green "Publish" button will appear in place of the "Submit" button. Press this button and your palace will be live on the marketplace. CONGRATULATIONS! Note that you can "Unpublish" your palace at any time by clicking the red "Unpublish" button. To promote your palace, use the tools on your listing page. You can share your palace via email, facebook, twitter, or with a direct link to your listing page. Video of these instructions coming soon!

Also, I noticed that you haven't selected a user name yet. To do so, go to the account tab in the MENU and select a username. Hope that helps! Let me know if you still have any questions. :)

Your palace saves automatically. No need to take any specific action. There's no save button or anything like that. That said, please note that the text panel does have an edit and save button. So if you click EDIT and make changes in the text panel, you need to click on SAVE to record those text changes.

That's a great idea for allowing for animated gifs. We're going to do some research to see what it would take to support that in a future build. Thank you for the idea!

Those are all great questions. In the next few days, I'll post a video to show how easy it is to put a palace for sale on the marketplace. I'd love to see you post a palace for sale! I'll certainly buy it. The original idea for the marketplace came years ago while sharing a beer with my brother on our local beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's been a lot of work (and a hurricane) getting from there to here! Success can be measured in many different ways. I have a real passion for empowering users to create and share amazing memory palaces that increase the speed at which knowledge can be transmitted to others. Just knowing that people like you are starting to use these tools, feels like success to me. So yes! I also firmly believe (and am committed to proving) that memory palaces can have real monetary value as a new learning format. We're just getting started, but the data coming in on that front is very encouraging. Our memory palace for US History app has had thousands of downloads around the world and the conversion rate to paid users is many times the industry average. That said, there's still a lot of work to do!

Sorry, I meant the category "Blank Templates".

If you click on the "PALACES" tab, you can select the category "Blank Palaces" to view all available blank palaces. They're all free right now.

With regards to VR, we agree that it would be very cool. We have plans to work it in. Be confident that anything you create here will be exportable to VR in the future.

Hi wineguymike, If you go to the store, there are some free blank palaces for you to download. There's two complete modern white European style apartments and also some pre-rendered 9 room homes that come in different colors. You could, for example, store one region's wines in the blue house, and another region in the red house, etc. Also, you can add any room images you want to any palace, so in this sense, they can all be blank because you can always change the room image or create new rooms. Let me know if you have any questions and we'll be happy to help you. Thanks!

Hi XXiviXX (not sure how to pronounce that)! Thanks for the feedback. There's actually already a fullscreen mode implemented for mobile! To activate it, tilt your phone sideways (horizontal -- widescreen), give it a second to render, and voila -- you're in fullscreen mode. To get out of it, just tilt your mobile device back to the vertical position and you're good. Let us know if you run into any issues.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll add a video to show you how to upload palaces to the store. In the meantime, here are some written instructions: 1) go to the account tab, 2) find the section for "publisher account" and click the button there, 3) register with Stripe (please note that for security purposes, we don't store or process any of your financial information -- all of that is done by Stripe), 4) choose the palaces you want to upload, set a price for them, and 5) profit!

Hi josy! Down the road we will certainly have an app. In the meantime, note that everything has been optimized to work on your mobile browser as well. Give it a try and please let us know any feedback you may have. Thanks!

Here’s a video tutorial showing you how to build a memory palace using our platform: https://youtu.be/W9YpL8IqQWo My top speed right now is like 30 seconds per item, including picking the mnemonic and setting up the images in the palace. I'm curious how fast others can build? Please let me know in the comments. Thanks!

Here's a great article from the Harvard Law School Library that explains the differences between Public Domain, Creative Commons, and traditional Copyright. It also contains links to the best collections of public domain images online. http://guides.library.harvard.edu/c.php?g=310751&p=2072816 The best option imho, is Bing. You can search for images using Bing then filter for Public Domain images by clicking on "License" in the menu below the search box and selecting Public Domain. Please note that Google images is a bit of a mine field since it does not allow you to filter for Public Domain images specifically. Even when you do an advanced search for "free to use, share, or modify, even commercially" Google includes Creative Commons images that usually have restrictions on them. Please be careful. When building palaces, you have three options: 1) Public Domain images: the best option! Any palaces you create with these images can be listed on the store for sale. 2) Creative Commons: the second best option depending on the specific license used. Some licenses limit you to only non-commercial uses, so those you wouldn't be able to include in palaces listed on the store. And be very careful, even images that are allowed for commercial purposes often still require attribution. For those, you would need to attribute the image in the description of your palace. You need to be very careful to read the actual license description when using Creative Commons images. 3) Copyrighted images: these you can only use if you own the copyright yourself or acquired a license for it. Hope that helps!
